Thomas is a registered US patent attorney and is admitted to practice law in New York and Minnesota. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters in 2005, Thomas handled patent prosecution and litigation matters in private practice for an IP specialist law firm and, prior to attending law school, he worked in Silicon Valley in a variety of technical roles. He attended the University of Iowa, earning double degrees in Computer Science and Political Science, and the Cardozo School of Law. Thomas also holds an MBA degree in Finance
